Greasing the wheels of the welfare state

Let's see...

We can't count on the banks to lend for legitimate business purposes or operate with any sense of responsibility. Heck, we can't even count on them to operate within the law. And why should they? There are no consequences when they don't.

So what do we do with them?

The bright idea of the day appears to be to put them in charge of making food stamp and other social welfare payments.

It makes a certain amount of perverse sense.

After all, they've helped make American unemployment and financial distress a growth industry. Why shouldn't they reap the benefits?

Seriously, is it me or does this JP Morgan rep seem like he was taken from the pages of Charles Dickens?
