Consumers run the show

I don't agree with everything this guy says, but there is one point you can't argue with:

"If there is no one around who can afford to buy what we sell, there's no business."

Consumers - and only consumers - drive the economy.

If they don't have jobs, if they don't have adequate income, then what?

Business owners know this.

Henry Ford doubled his workers wages - against the howls of his peers - because he wanted to create a market for his cars.

It worked.

I'm all for being rich and keeping what I earn, but screwing working people is not a sustainable plan and right now, the economy seems to be based on screwing the working man and woman.
