Japan has a lot of rebuilding to do.

Fortunately, it has saved a lot of money.

Unfortunately, it has a lot of its savings in US Treasuries.

We won't feel the impact today or tomorrow, but when the rebuilding starts in earnest, where will the rebuilding money come from.

Meanwhile, the US and other countries are dependent on Japan for many key components for auto making and the electronics industry (China does not make everything.)

Some of that stuff won't be coming anytime soon with the dramatic impact of US assembly lines closing down because they have nothing to assemble.
