Why banks love the drug trade

Think about the news reporting you normally hear about the illegal drug trade.

Usually it's about local busts of low level street dealers and users.

Occasionally they'll talk about a "Kingpin" - always far away in another country.

How often to they talk about the hundreds of billions of dollars worth of profits from the illegal drug trade that are laundered by US banks and businesses.

The documentary "Cocaine Cowboys" touched on it, but made it appear to be a phenomenon limited to the "70s and 80s" in Miami.

Baloney.

This trade goes on right now and has a financial influence in every city in the US.
